2020 GEMSA Leadership Program
Applications due January 31, 2020

The Georgia EMS Association (GEMSA) is currently accepting applications for Year 9 of the Georgia EMS Leadership Program for 2020. All application materials must be MAILED to Kim Littleton, Leadership Program Director & GEMSA Executive Director, postmarked no later than January 31, 2020.

Please note: All applications must be submitted by mail as no email or fax copies will be accepted.

The GEMSA Board of Directors is pleased to announce that we have secured funding from the Georgia Trauma Care Network Commission to conduct the ninth EMS Leadership Education and Training Course in 2020.  The class will be conducted during four (4) up to one week sessions at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro and other locations across the State.  This funding will allow us to pay for all expenses, except for travel to and from the course, for participants selected for the program.  We will accept 25 students into the course.

To be considered, your application package must contain the following documents:

  • Minimum Qualifications – A, B or C
  • Letter of Endorsement – A, or B, or C
  • Student Information
  • Student Essay
  • Student Commitment Verification
  • Supervisor acknowledgement of Leadership participation

This program, after eight very successful years, has captured national attention and is positioned to shape the future of EMS leadership training. We hope that you will choose to be a part of the 2020 class of the Georgia EMS Leadership Program.

FY2020 Regional System Improvement Grant

The Georgia Trauma Care Network Commission approved the FY2020 proposed budget of $ 264,247.00 for Regional System Improvement Grants. Every Regional Trauma Advisory Council is eligible to apply for the grant. Please have completed applications and proposal with budget information submitted by January 2, 2020.

FY2020 EMS Trauma Related Equipment Grant Notice

The Georgia Trauma Commission (GTC) via the EMS Subcommittee on Trauma has approved the distribution of $944,000.00 statewide which equated to $ 726.15 per ambulance for the FY 2020 GTC EMS Trauma Related Equipment Grant cycle. The deadline for the grant packet to be mailed will be December 1, 2019.

It is that time of year again! The Georgia Trauma Commission (GTC) via the EMS Subcommittee on Trauma has approved the distribution of $1,115,119 statewide for a FY 2019 GTC EMS Trauma Related Equipment Grant cycle. The deadline for the grant packet to be mailed will be January 31, 2019. Please see the grant award letter for additional details. The application and affidavits are both in fillable forms.

AFY2018 2nd Round EMS Trauma Related Equipment Grant

The Georgia Trauma Care Network Commission (“GTCNC”) would like to say THANK YOU for everyone that applied for the FY 2018 EMS Trauma Related Equipment Grant. As we are still closing out the FY 2018 Equipment Grant cycle, we have received an additional $5,369,908 during the legislative session, which was recommended by Governor Deal for AFY 2018.

 

The GTCNC has re-authorized the Non-Competitive EMS Trauma Related Equipment Reimbursement Grant (“Equipment Grant”) for AFY 2018 as advised by the EMS Subcommittee on Trauma. These funds will be used to reimburse Zoned 911 EMS agencies for the purchase of Trauma Related Equipment used to equip 911 ambulances. The total amount of equipment grant funds available to be awarded statewide for AFY 2018 is $641,762. The actual reimbursement will be based the total number of 911 ambulances per agency. Our current eligible ambulance count was 1,303 or reimbursement up to $492.53 per ambulance.

The deadline to submit completed grant packets including your agency applications, affidavit and copy of invoice for reimbursement is on or before May 31, 2018. We are requiring a copy of an invoice with the applications during this grant cycle, since we are only asking that you affirm to purchase the equipment and have it placed in service by June 30, 2018.

 

PLEASE NOTE: We will accept emailed (gtcbusinessops@gtcnc.org) or faxed (706-841-1980) grant packets to begin processing, but MUST have the originals via mail. Applications received after this date will be returned to the sender.  Completed grant packets must be mailed or delivered to:
