Nature of Position:
The role of the Trauma Coordinator is a one time, non-renewable grant funded position provided by the Georgia Trauma Network Care Commission. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to working with the Region IV Trauma Advisory Committee (RTAC) Executive team, general membership, and other stakeholders to assist with and coordinate the development and implementation of a Region IV RTAC plan that follows the Georgia Trauma Network Commission Trauma System Regionalization Agreement Template. The position will be responsible for abiding by the conditional nature of the agreement, accomplishing the goal outlined in the template and monitoring the progress of the RTAC in meeting Steps I, II, and III of the task and deliverables outlined in the template.

Salary: $32.58 per hour
This position is considered a salaried position based on no more than 20 hours worked in a week. The Board of Directors establishes salary determination with consideration based on experience and education. A onetime non-renewable grant from the GA Trauma Network Care Commission will be the source from which salary will be determined. Other costs of RTAC development will be considered prior to determination of final compensation.
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent; Preferred to have a current RN or Paramedic license in the state of Georgia; Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license with a good driving record.
Education Preferred: Associates Degree or higher in business related field or Healthcare
Major Functions and Attributes
Attributes of the position will be that of a highly organized individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills who has a pre-existing knowledge of the GA Trauma System and its development. The ability to assemble a strong network of trauma care providers in Region IV as well as at the state level will be expected. This may include, but may not be limited to pre-hospital ground and flight organizations, fire-rescue organizations, physicians, nurses, trauma medical directors, trauma program managers, Pl coordinators, hospital administrators, specialty stakeholders, the Region IV EMS Council, the State Office of EMS and Trauma, and the GA Trauma Commission. Administrative skill sets in word processing, electronic messaging, presentation development and delivery are critical. This position will be expected to record the proceedings of the RTAC meetings, assist with the tracking of expenditures and assist in budget planning and preparation of financial reports for the RTAC. This position will represent the Region IV RTAC at meetings, conferences and network with affiliated groups. The coordinator will arrange and coordinate the logistical details of the RTAC meetings, and disseminate information related to RTAC meetings, EMS Council meetings, GA Trauma Commission meetings, and disseminate pertinent information from the GA State Office of EMS and Trauma, Department of Public Health.
An expectation of a weekly hourly commitment of 20-hours dedicated solely to accomplishing the goals and objectives of the Region IV RTAC plan development.
