Georgia Trauma Medical Directors Subcommittee
The Georgia Trauma Medical Directors Subcommittee of the Georgia Trauma Commission is chaired by Dr. Dennis Ashley, Trauma Commission chairman. Subcommittee meets via conference call on the third Monday of every month and usually at 4:00 pm.
Georgia Committee for Trauma Excellence
In April 2009, the Georgia Trauma Commission unanimously passed a motion that recognized the Georgia Committee on Trauma Excellence as a standing subcommittee of the Georgia Trauma Commission. The recognition of the GCTE as a subcommittee was “for the provision of ensuring collaboration with and coordination of mutual work toward developing an inclusive statewide trauma system in Georgia.
The Georgia Committee on Trauma Excellence has been an independent self-sustaining committee of Georgia trauma system stakeholders for over 15 years. The mission of the GCTE is “to promote excellence in the care of trauma patients in Georgia.
GCTE membership includes: trauma coordinators and registrars for all designated trauma centers; non-trauma center hospital staff interested in trauma care improvement and system development; and, Office of EMS and Trauma and Georgia Trauma Commission staff.
EMS Subcommittee on Trauma
In April 2009, the Georgia Trauma Commission unanimously passed a motion that established a standing subcommittee of the Georgia Trauma Commission to be identified as the EMS Subcommittee on Trauma. This subcommittee was established “for the provision of ensuring collaboration with and coordination of mutual work toward developing an inclusive statewide trauma system in Georgia.
The EMS Subcommittee on Trauma is the working group to provide ideas and guidance to the Trauma Commission on all EMS Trauma-related matters moving forward including the development of short and long term strategies for Commission funding decisions.
It is important all of the State’s EMS communities be represented and equally important each subcommittee representative understand the needs and views of their respective regional EMS constituents and represent those at these meetings.
