CLARIFICATION: The definition of a "Trauma Patient" in the 22 October 2012 application posting was incorrect. The correct definition (for the purpose of this grant) is: "A patient who is listed on the State Trauma Registry or who is a trauma burn patient." This POSTING provides the application packet, requirements and timeline for Georgia Trauma Commission-funded FY 2013 EMS Uncompensated Care Claims Reimbursement Program.
The Trauma Commission has contributed approximately $683,125 to this program.
Reimbursement will be pro rata, based on available funding and provided as a direct grant award from the Georgia Trauma Commission to Georgia licensed ambulance agencies for qualifying trauma care-related uncompensated care claims delivered during the period of 01 January 2011 through 31 December 2011.
All claims submitted for reimbursement under this program must meet eligibility requirements and be in the required documentation format and submitted to Judy Geiger, Business Operations Officer, no later than close of business 14 December 2012. Submitted Claims will be subjected to an audit process to assure eligibility requirements are met.
There will be NO application deadline extensions made. Please plan accordingly.
FY 2013 EMS Vehicle Equipment Replacement Grants Program

The Georgia Trauma Commission’s goal is to provide ten (10) replacement grant awards of $72,170 each. The actual number and amount of awards will be decided by the Trauma Commission and based on available budget at time of awards. The Trauma Commission will determine the individual grant awardees during the March 2013 meeting.
Grant application open period: 22 October 2012 until 11:59 pm 14 December 2012.
All completed application hard copies must be received in Trauma Commission office in Rising Fawn, Georgia by 11:59 pm 14 December 2012.
